July Employee Spotlight: Tuwana Milford

My name is Tuwana Milford, and I am a Certified Pharmacy Technician and Call Center Supervisor here at Kepro. I work from our Pharmacy Management offices in Auburn, Alabama.

I enjoy cheering on the local high school at their Friday night games during football season. In my free time, I love spending quality time with my grandson Cayden. One of our favorite things to do together is go skating. We also love visiting Cracker Barrel and getting their pancakes and Lemonhead candy sticks (my favorites) from the restaurant store.

I have a Master of Science in Health Systems Management, Bachelor of Science in Health Systems Management, and Associate of Applied Science in Medical Coding and Billing. I'm a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), licensed in Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) and RxPert Pharmacy System.

I have been in a healthcare-related role for the past thirty-plus years. This year, I am proudly celebrating 16 years with Kepro. I am enthusiastic and have a strong passion for helping others. This passion has allowed me to transition from one earlier healthcare institution into my current role within the Kepro family.

As the Kepro call center supervisor, I manage multiple staff daily while addressing production tasks. A typical day involves working with various components within our RxPert System and communicating with my outstanding team members. I interact with ten or more team members daily as communication is vital to our projects. I work with the team to ensure we meet the contractual agreements of each client. We then share the monthly quality audit reports with the client manager. Much of our work involves the patient, the pharmacy, and the prescriber. I feel great satisfaction knowing that the patient's pharmacy authorization for the medication is approved.

My favorite part of the day is the reward my team and I feel knowing we processed all client's prior authorizations for the day.
