My name is Ronald Joyal, and I am a care coordinator in Kepro's West Linn, Oregon office.

I have worked with Kepro for almost 5 years. I have worked on both physical medicine and mental health sides, from handling prior authorizations and data entry to handling outreach calls.

Every day starts with the ever-important cup of coffee. Then, I sort through my tasks to prioritize my day, such as meetings, reaching out to our members or helping answer fellow co-worker's questions.

My job includes making sure that the care and attention our members need is given. I try to help the members get the answers they are looking for, such as giving them phone numbers, getting them to the correct department, or giving them the resources needed to solve their issues. I also let our members know what resources they have available to them and explain the benefits to our case management program, where our amazing nurses can best assist them. I reach out to members in multiple specialties, such as pharmacy, tobacco and outreach programs. It is through this outreach that I can truly help and make a difference in the community.

My favorite part of my job is the many amazing people I have met at Kepro. Their talent and knowledge constantly inspire me to perform to the best of my abilities. One highlight to my day, although not every day, is being a part of the Atrezzo Workgroup. Getting to step into a different environment periodically and seeing firsthand a behind the scenes look at the program is very interesting.

In my downtime, a current hobby of mine is cooking. I enjoy creating all sorts of dishes. I continually try to better my skills and try out new recipes. A few of my favorite dishes to make are chicken lettuce wraps, cioppino and chicken parmesan. I am always striving to learn something new.
