December Employee Spotlight: Becky Meyer

I'm Becky Meyer, and I am the Operations Manager for the 1115 Substance Use Disorder (SUD) System Reform Demonstration – but I usually just go by the "SUD Ops Manager." I work remotely from Cottage Grove but am associated with our Bloomington, Minnesota office.

I have been with Kepro for just two short years and am looking forward to many more. Since 2006 I have worked in the mental health field in a variety of capacities. I earned my Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University and have completed several leadership courses in the military. I am licensed in Minnesota as a board-approved supervisor and professional clinical counselor. A little-known fact about me is that I've been playing the clarinet and alto saxophone with the 204th Army Band for 22 years.

The 1115 Substance Use Disorder Reform project is a federal program that ensures quality care is being provided to our beneficiaries. As the operations manager, I can help by providing subject matter experts in substance and mental healthcare and utilization management (UM) to our clients, partnering with them to build a new UM program from the ground up for the beneficiaries.

On a typical day, you can usually find me working with providers to address concerns with member eligibility or case submissions. Other times I'll be providing clinical consultation on substance use cases that my reviewers are looking at and then meeting with the client to identify how we will continue building and refining the demonstration project. My team and I are continually researching and developing training for providers that are a part of the 1115 Substance Use reformation.

My favorite part of my job is connecting and building a relationship with providers and staff to improve their day and make the work that they submit to us just a little bit easier. I enjoy problem solving and training, so I love any time I can help a provider learn to navigate the Provider Portal or improve their clinical documentation.
